About the winemaker
Fabio Bartolomei was born and raised in Scotland, the child of Tuscan parents who had emigrated there before his birth. Though he studied Accounting & Finance, twenty years ago Fabio made the unconventional choice to move to Spain and dedicate himself to winemaking.

About the vineyard
Fabio spent his first decade in Spain living southeast of Madrid, renting vineyards in various places and transforming garages, stables, and other makeshift spaces into his cellars. It wasn't until 2013 that he was able to relocate to the Sierra de Gredos, west of Madrid. There, he found an old building that once belonged to the local cooperative, a place he now calls both home and winery. Despite the fact that the building’s capacity greatly exceeds his own small-scale production, Fabio is thoroughly content in this space.

About the wines
With no formal training to guide him, Fabio launched himself into the adventure of winemaking as an autodidact, creating wines so distinctive that it’s almost impossible to define them by a label. His bottlings are savoury, spicy, earthy, and often unmistakably unconventional, yet they have an undeniable ability to move and intrigue.
