And so it was. The grapes come from soil rich in red clay and get brief skin contact before being pressed very gently in an old wooden press. Élevage takes place in concrete, giving the fruit plenty of room: it really recalls the Rhône, with blueberries, bay leaf and garrigue, but genuinely light and juicy. Plenty of invigorating acidity and, as intended, an enormous drinkability factor. A light wine with even less alcohol than the previous vintage: perfect for keeping six bottles or so in the cool of the cupboard under the stairs.
